Community Meeting - Community Conversation + Vision for Riverfront Park

Community Meeting - Community Conversation + Vision for Riverfront Park

This meeting is going to be a community conversation to build a more detailed vision for a River front park. This is a separate plan that expands on the previous plan done by Blake Sanders (During his meetings it was suggested that one of the next steps would be to work with a landscape designer) We are lucky enough to have a Clemson Landscape Architecture masters student who we are collaborating with to make this dream come to fruition. Having a detailed plan adds teeth to the Piedmont Area Plan as well as the plan Blake Sanders completed and will be incredibly beneficial when applying for grants and different funding opportunities as obtaining and installing a new bridge will take millions of dollars alone.  That doesn’t include landscaping and other features. The alliance is thrilled to collaborate on this project and we ask that you join us and support this project.  Please fill out the survey and share! We want as many voices can be heard as possible! This will be the first of three meetings so if you miss this one, hopefully we will catch you at the next one!!

Scan the QR code or visit the link below to fill out the survey. Thanks for your time!

Saving the Seasons: Intro to Preserving Food

A new, experiential learning class given by Farm in the Wildwood

Guest Instructor: Amy Malik, Chef & Owner of Tin Roof Farm

& Danielle Pereira, Farm in the Wildwood

In just a few months, it will be the perfect time of year to store away the rich bounty of the season and we will show you how! Join us for this interactive and informative class focused on introducing the many methods for preserving food.

Canning, pickling, drying, freezing...you can do it all! Preserving food is a worthwhile and rewarding experience, can be accomplished with minimal tools and equipment, is easy to learn, and doesn't have to be intimidating.

Together, we will walk through each method, demonstrating the "what", "how", tools and safety considerations. You'll leave with a familiarity of each food preservation method as well as tips, guides, resources and even our favorite recipes to help get you well on your way to canning, pickling, drying and freezing in your own kitchen.

Please note, that we are not a certified kitchen, so this class is not a "make and take" nor a "make and "eat" scenario. You will enjoy on-the-farm, hands-on learning with plenty of real-life demonstrations and useful hands outs.

Integrating Permaculture and Regenerative Practices into the Homestead - Farm in the Wildwood

Buy Tickets Here

Have you been hearing the terms “permaculture” and “regenerative agriculture” being tossed around quite a bit lately in the organic gardening community, and you are curious what in the world all of the hype is about?? Well then, this is the class for you! We are going to go over the basics of what in the world permaculture is and why it could be so useful for how you choose to set up your homestead space.

We will also cover how applying regenerative agriculture principles to your homestead can have such a powerful impact on your family and community as it focuses on rebuilding so much of what we have lost; like healthy topsoil, the connection to our land and those around us. At the end of this class, we will walk through the gardens to see these practices and applications happening right on the farm.

So, please, bring your questions, thoughts and stories about your own homesteading journey! We are so excited to keep building our community around these topics.
