Piedmont’s 1850 Tea Plantation.

Did you know that the true first tea plantation in the Americas was here in Piedmont? It was located along Old Pelzer Road between Grove Station and Bessie Road. Larry Conant, an esteemed deed and map researcher, and Dr. Anne Peden will be sharing this amazing Piedmont story. Larry has done the research to locate the site from old deeds and maps. Come out and have some fun with us while hear the story of American tea in that began right here in Piedmont, SC.
